Insurance

Au pairs should have a valid health, accident and personal liability insurance for their host country. In most countries it is compulsory for host families to take out an insurance for their au pairs and to bear the relevant costs.

In this context, insurance regulations vary from country to country: in some countries, au pairs can be co-insured with their host families. In some other countries, the host family must take out an individual insurance for their au pair. If the au pair is a citizen of an EU country, he/she is possibly automatically insured abroad.

On our pages Visa and Regulations/Au Pair Programme host families and au pairs can find insurance regulations concerning the relevant host countries.
